Beach Engagement Session
Our Adventure Photos photographer, Emmanuel, was honored to have been able to capture the love between Kayla and Eli during a couple’s photoshoot at Dreams Playa Mujeres. The newly engaged couple were looking for photos to use on their save the date cards and were so pleased with the results.

How did you meet?
We were introduced by a mutual friend and quickly became best friends. We had been best friends for five years, and even though several of our family and friends advised us to date, we were dead set on never ruining our friendship. As a joke for National Girlfriend Day on August 1, 2017, he asked me to be his “pretend girlfriend.” When we announced our relationship on social media, we received an outpouring of love and support from our friends and family, who were ecstatic to hear the news. We couldn’t bear telling everyone it was a joke, so we agreed to keep it going until the end of the month and then tell everyone things didn’t work out. Fortunately for us, the joke was on us, and we ended up falling in love, with him proposing four years later! It was the greatest joke we’d ever told.
What is your favorite thing about your partner?
Kayla: Eli’s courage to be himself, as well as his ability to make me laugh so hard it hurts, are two of my favorite qualities in him. He is unapologetically himself, no matter who is watching, and he treats me like I am the most important thing to him every day. He exemplifies what it is to have someone be completely in love with you, and I couldn’t imagine my life without him by my side.
Eli: I’d say her personality, but that doesn’t quite capture the essence of who she is. Kayla is absolutely stunning, and I am completely captivated in her presence. Her nurturing personality, the way she loves, her sense of fearlessness, and her desire to fight for what’s right are all qualities I admire about her. Above all, she has a great sense of humor, she is my comfort, my best friend, and she effortlessly makes me extremely happy.
What is your favorite style of date night?
Our favorite style of date night is a casual night spent together snuggled on the sofa watching movies with a fresh pepperoni pizza and homemade cookies.
What drew you to having a lifestyle photo shoot with Adventure Photos, were you celebrating anything special?
We were in Mexico to visit various resorts to choose the location for our wedding. While in Mexico we wanted to have a lifestyle photoshoot on the beach to use for a save the dates.
What was your experience like working with your Adventure Photos photographer?
Working with Emmanuel from Adventure Photos was a dream come true. From the moment we walked into the office, he made us feel energized. He made both of us feel extremely at ease during our shoot. We had a great time and were able to be our true selves while spending time with each other.
