Kenny Sencion is an on-site photographer at Secrets Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic whose photography career began 17 years ago after being introduced to the medium by a friend. Kenny, since then, has gone on to capture beautiful shots of individuals and couples.

Where are you from?
Dominican Republic, Province of San Juan de la Maguana.
How did you get started as a photographer?
A friend introduced me to photography. I started learning from him, following him to his photo sessions and that’s when I fell in love with photography.
How long have you been a photographer for?
I have been a photographer for 17 years.
What is the most rewarding part of being a photographer?
Seeing the emotions that my photos provoke with each person I work with.
What does photography mean to you?
Photography for me means preserving an unforgettable moment for a lifetime.
What is your favorite style of photography?
Portrait and landscape photography.
Where is your favorite location to photograph?
I love the beach because it showcases the beautiful scenery that represents my country.
What is your preferred piece of equipment?
I love using a 70-200mm lens. It gives me the possibility to capture candid moments from afar.
What is your favorite part about working with Adventure Photos?
Adventure Photos allows me to grow as a photographer and person. I learn every day about new photography techniques and I innovate myself every day.
What was the most memorable photo session or wedding you have captured?
My session with a newlywed couple, Marianne & Dylan.
What is your favorite photograph and why?
This is my favorite because that sunset expresses their beautiful romance.
How did you begin working with Adventure Photos? What hotel are you currently working at?
I was working in the same resort where Adventure Photos opened their gallery and Adventure Photos liked my work and wanted me to stay and work for them.
Now I work happily in Secrets Cap Cana.
How do you make clients less nervous during a shoot?
It happens sometimes that a couple is nervous, but I make sure they relax by telling them jokes and also showing them the photos as I take them so they can see how beautiful they are and that there is nothing to be nervous about.
If you could give advice to clients prior to their photo session, what would it be?
I recommend that all my clients come relaxed, wear comfortable clothes, and act natural…all the rest is the art, they are in good hands!
