Where are you from?

I’m from Puebla, México.

How did you get started as a photographer?

Everyone in my family is a photographer, including my parents and siblings, so in some way I inherited this beautiful profession, which I started at a very young age.

How long have you been a photographer for?

I have more than 15 years experience dedicating myself to photography in a professional way.

What is the most rewarding part of being a photographer?

For me it is to see my clients happy and satisfied when they see the photographs that they will be able to treasure for the rest of their lives, in addition to the strong connection that I manage to have with the majority. Portraying people means entering into a very intimate interaction in which they allow me to be part of that magical moment to project the most genuine emotions of each scene, this for me is the greatest satisfaction.

What does photography mean to you?

For me photography has 3 strong meanings: transcendence, evolution and communication. It transcends time and spaces, evolution because every day I learn to improve the technique and it helps me to develop my vision of the world and communication because it is one of the most important expressions not verbally before the whole world. For me, photography is passion and art always in motion.

What is your favorite style of photography?

My favorite style is portrait photography, because through this style the essence of people can easily be represented, the language is clear. The portrait can communicate more than  what is seen the naked eye about a person. The portrait can become poetic in its form and essence.

Where is your favorite location to photograph?

My favorite place is the beach, because it is where the personality of the clients becomes more real and powerful, the sea has a very particular magic to make everything contrast poetically with the turquoise and the waves give great power to the scene.

What is your preferred piece of equipment?

Definitely the canon 6D MARKII with 85mm 1:1.4. This equipment for me is the perfect duo, because it is possible to enhance the photographs to a higher quality, it provides incredible sharpness which adds drama to the photos.

What is your favorite part about working with Adventure Photos?

I like that they allow me to feel the freedom to be as creatives as I want to be. I can develop my talent and I count on their support to achieve what I set out to do.

What was the most memorable photo session or wedding you have captured?

I could not name just one, I can say that each session and wedding has left me many beautiful experiences. However one of the most beautiful things I have seen is many couples and families looking at each other with real love and that is one of the most memorable experiences during my job.

What is your favorite photograph and why?

This is one of my favorites. It is a very simple photo but clean and balanced in every way. When I captured this photo a hurricane has just passed, so the beach looked beautiful, the photo captures the calm that comes after the storm. I love how natural look my model Tania from Polonia was, she loved this picture too.

How did you begin working with Adventure Photos? What hotel are you currently working at?

I started working when I had the need to do more portrait and wedding photography because I knew that Adventure Photos would have the workflow that I required to develop in these areas. I’m currently at the Secrets the Vine hotel, in which I have been very happy working for the last 2 years.

How do you make clients less nervous during a shoot?

I try to say some jokes to make them laugh, that always works.

If you could give advice to clients prior to their photo session, what would it be?

I always suggest to my clients that they think of the session time as a gift to themselves, I emphasize the importance of feeling happy during the session because that is what will be reflected in their portraits. Joking during the session helps to break the tension and ask to enjoy the beautiful view of the sea (or any location) which always helps them to connect with themselves.
