Kyasia & Jermaine

Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya

Adventure Photos photographer Israel Martinez beautifully captured Kyasia and Jermaine’s wedding day at Dreams Sapphire in Riviera Maya. Kyasia was kind enough to share her love story and experience with us as her designated wedding photographers, saying that her experience with Israel “was nothing but the best.”

Read on to learn more about Kyasia & Jermaine’s love story and about their experience with planning a destination wedding.

How did you meet your partner?

Jermaine and I met through a dating app called Plenty Of Fish. I checked his profile out and clicked interested and he messaged me. We both met at a busy bar on super bowl Sunday for our first date. He was such a gentleman and polite. We continued to date until we became more serious about each other.

What is your favorite thing about your partner?

Kyasia: My most favorite thing about Jermaine is he’s such a provider and takes great care of our family.

What was the proposal like?

The proposal was at Now Oynx in Punta Cana DR for my sisters 30th birthday celebration. He and my mom planned an all-white dinner party with all of our family and friends who attended the trip. During an announcement thanking our family and friends for attending our family trip he stood up and got on one knee. It was beautiful and unexpected.

Why did you decide to have a destination wedding?

I’ve always dreamed of having a beach wedding as a little girl so having a destination wedding was ideal for us. We both loved the thought of having the beautiful scenery from an island.

What was your favorite part of wedding planning?

My favorite part was choosing and putting together the entire wedding of how I pictured everything would look. Going on Instagram and Pinterest helped me choose colors and how I wanted my flowers.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

The most memorable moment was our first dance. Dancing and looking into each other’s eyes while our family and friends watched was just magical.

What was your experience like working with your Adventure Photos photographer?

Our experience was great. Israel was very easy to work with. He laid out how everything would go and he was very responsive with communication. Our photos were breathtaking. He captured everything asked for.

What was your favorite wedding photograph and why?

We both absolutely love this photo (see below). It’s magical and captures the love we both have for each other.

If you could give advice to newly engaged couples, what would it be?

My advice would be if you’re planning a destination wedding, research is very key to planning a destination wedding. Lay your vision out, set a budget and make sure you enjoy your big day without any stress. One thing I would have done differently would be to take your photos before the ceremony. Do a first look with your future husband. It gives you more time to enjoy your family and friends.
