Our onsite photographer, Hugo, had a great time documenting The Polk Family’s vacation at Grand Sirenis in beautiful Riviera Maya.
Valerie Polk wanted to capture her and her two beautiful daughters in their favorite setting: the beach. Valerie told us she was pleased with results and that Hugo perfectly captured this moment in time for their family.

Why did you choose your vacation destination?
I chose the Grand Sirenis in Tulum as our family vacation destination because my girls and I love the beach and we’ve already been to Riviera Maya and Cancun.
What was your family’s favorite memory of your vacation?
It’s difficult to choose just one favorite memory. We had a wonderful week with a couple of excursions as well as days spent lounging around on the beach all day with my girls enjoying the water and the scenery. We went to Xel-ha and Isla de Mujeres. The water at Isla de Mujeres was beautiful!
Do you have a favorite photo from your session? Why is it your favorite?
I also can’t pick just one favorite picture either. Hugo did such a great job capturing us. My girls and I especially liked that he posed us so we didn’t have to think about it. My favorite scenes were in front of the water and in front of the lush vegetation.
Why did you decide to schedule a family photo shoot at your resort?
The week trip was planned as a celebration for my oldest daughter’s 30th birthday. I knew before we took the trip that I would want to commemorate this special trip with a photo shoot. I wanted to capture this moment in time with my family. Time brings changes, and soon my daughter will be married with a family of her own.
I planned to make our family Christmas card using the photos as well as Christmas gifts for family members. We happened to find a dress that we could all wear which was perfect for the outdoor pictures. I emailed the resort to find a photographer and they told me they had one on site. When we arrived I scheduled our session right away since that was a priority for me.
What advice would you give to families considering this type of shoot on vacation?
If you’re planning a family trip, I’d highly recommend Hugo and Adventure Photos to do it for you. The benefit of having them do it, is that they know the best times to take pictures, best scenery, and you don’t have to worry about someone not being in the photo because a family member is taking it. Everyone can be in the photo and let the professionals handle the details. You won’t be disappointed.
