We are so honored to have been a part of Katherine & William’s beautiful beach wedding at Dreams Vista in Cancun, Mexico. Thanks to our talented destination wedding photographer, Lizette Jácome, the couple has gorgeous photographs of each special moment of their wedding day that they can cherish forever.

How did you meet your partner?
William and Katherine’s story all started with a swipe and a match on the mobile dating app, “Bumble.” From there, the two met for their first date at a movie theater, and the rest is history!
What is your favorite thing about your partner?
William’s favorite thing about Katherine has to be her thoughtfulness and ability to express care and compassion like no one else. Katherine’s favorite thing about William is his ‘happy go-lucky’ personality, and his ability to wear his heart on his sleeve.
What was the proposal like?
William knew Katherine wished to be proposed someday in a place that was warm, unique for the both of them, and a time where her makeup and nails would be perfect for photos. Since William knew the perfect opportunity would be on a vacation, he drove the both of them six hours from Rochester, New York, to Ocean City, Maryland. William then contacted local people in the area about romantic spots that would be perfect for a proposal. During this time, William met a woman named Amanda, who would serve as their fantastic engagement photographer. Once the photographer was chosen, William and Amanda worked together with a resort known as “Fager’s Island,” to obtain a private gazebo that stretched out into the ocean. Quite early on the morning of July 1st, 2021, William took Katherine to the gazebo so they could watch the sunrise together. As the sun began to rise, William kneeled down on one knee and asked his best friend Katherine to marry him. Of course, Katherine said yes, and they lived happily ever after!
Why did you decide to have a destination wedding?
William and Katherine decided to have a destination wedding because they wanted to get married somewhere warm. Since their wedding would be in the cold month of February, the couple decided they wanted to travel somewhere brand new to the two of them, and ‘tie the knot’ there! This led to them discovering the beautiful Dreams Vista Resort and Spa in Cancun, Mexico.
What was your favorite part of wedding planning?
William and Katherine loved planning the wedding ceremony with the lovely staff at Dreams Vista. Especially with their coordinator Anna, and their fantastic wedding photographer Lizette (Liz).
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
William and Katherine absolutely enjoyed the setup of the ceremony on the beach. The chairs, aisle, and flower arrangements complimented the gorgeous view of the ocean behind them.
What was your experience like working with your Adventure Photos photographer/videographer?
The experience working with Adventure Photos and their photographers/videographers was phenomenal! The videographers respected William and Katherine’s requests to focus the shots of the wedding on key items such as the exchanging of vows, their rings, kiss, and walking down the aisle.
In addition, William and Katherine were amazed by their photographer Lizette Jácome. Lizette is extremely dedicated to her craft! Her photography skills were extremely professional, and she always ‘went the extra mile’ to capture the perfect shot! Combined with her amazing and fun personality, Lizette made William and Katherine’s wedding photos extremely enjoyable to take. Lastly, Lizette’s dedication to her work was extremely impressive. She had all of William and Katherine’s photos edited and selected in less than 24 hours! Lizette is an extremely hard worker and has been recommended to many of William and Katherine’s friends and family who plan to visit Dreams Vista Resort and Spa, and wish to capture their moments with Adventure Photos.
What was your favorite wedding photograph and why?
William and Katherine’s favorite wedding photograph was a picture of the two of them standing in the sand next to the coconut trees. It was here, where Lizette actually laid down in the sand to take an incredibly impressive shot of the wedding couple holding hands.
If you could give advice to newly engaged couples, what would it be?
To always enjoy the “little things” in life, and support one another with every challenge you face.
